The SNO Distinguished Lecture for Fall 2006 was presented by Simon LeVay of Stanford University. His talk, entitled, "The Neuroscience of Sexual Orientation", was held Friday, September 29 at 3:30 PM in the Stolkin Auditorium, Physics Building, SU. You can download a flyer here.
Dr. LeVay is well known for his study of brain anatomy related to sexual orientation. His talk discussed biological and anatomical aspects of sexual orientation. The talk was for anyone interested in learning about the role of the brain in human sexual orientation, or for anyone interested in neuroscience more broadly.
We held a journal club in anticipation of Dr. LeVay's visit Monday September 25 at 5pm in 3213 Weiskotten Hall. Suggested readings can be found here:
On Thursday, September 28, we had a ``Book Group'' Discussion in 500 Hall of Languages from 5:00 to 6:30 pm (NOTE CHANGE OF TIME). Dr. LeVay participated in this discussion and suggested this background reading in addition to his book Queer Science. He's also given us permission to post some excerpts from the book (Warning, big file!).
